MY STORY
WELCOME! I’M DOCTOR DANIEL MATTEO, A PASSIONATE PLASTIC SURGEON WITH A SOLID AND DEDICATED BACKGROUND EXCLUSIVELY IN PLASTIC, AESTHETIC, AND RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY.
From my beginnings at the School of Medicine of the University of San Miguel de Tucumán in Argentina, to my extensive training and international recognitions, I constantly seek to perfect my skills and knowledge to provide the highest level of care to my patients.
My journey in surgery began in 1998 with a residency in General Surgery at the prestigious Sanatorio 9 de Julio in the province of Tucumán. After completing three years of training, I was selected as Chief Resident. Following the receipt of my specialist title in General Surgery in 2001 and obtaining my certification from the Ministry of Health of the Nation, my passion for Plastic Surgery led me to secure a position through the University of Buenos Aires and the Ministry of Health as a resident in the Plastic Surgery department at the renowned Hospital de Agudo Eva Perón in the province of Buenos Aires. This hospital boasts the oldest international school in this specialty in Argentina.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of receiving additional training and education abroad. In 2001, I completed a fellowship with Professor Ivo Pitanguy and his distinguished medical team in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Subsequently, I was honored with a scholarship from the Iberolatin American Federation of Plastic Surgery for the period 2004-2005 to represent Argentina. During this period, I completed a fellowship with Professor Liacyr Ribeiro and Ronaldo Pontes in Niterói, Brazil. This international experience has enriched my practice and allowed me to adopt the latest techniques and technologies in plastic surgery.
As an active member of various scientific societies both nationally and internationally, including the Argentine Society of Plastic Surgery (SACPER), Plastic Surgery Society of Buenos Aires (SCPBA), Argentine Medical Association (AMA), Iberolatin American Federation of Plastic Surgery (FILACP), American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), I am committed to professional excellence and continuous education. I have been selected for leadership roles in scientific events and congresses, serving as Treasurer of the Argentine Congress of Plastic Surgery (2018) and Treasurer of the Argentine Society of Plastic Surgery (2023), as well as participating in the organizing committee.
Currently, I serve as the General Director of the Scientific Events Commission, responsible for organizing the National and International Congresses organized by SACPER. I am also presiding over the 2024 International Congress of the Iberolatinamerican Federation of Plastic Surgery held in Buenos Aires. Additionally, I was elected by the Iberolatinamerican Federation to be part of the Specialty Defense Committee, where I will represent Argentina by contributing my experience and knowledge in the field to achieve a positive impact on society, promoting safety in this medical specialty.
In addition to my clinical practice, for many years I have shared my knowledge as a former professor of the Superior Course of Specialization in Plastic Surgery at SACPER, training physicians from Argentina and other countries. I have also authored chapters in specialized books on surgical anatomy and publications in scientific journals in this specialty.
Over the years, I have presented numerous scientific papers at national and international congresses, contributing to the advancement and development of plastic surgery. My commitment to education and innovation has led me to continue learning and updating myself in leading countries in the field of plastic surgery, including the United States.
It is an honor for me to offer my services as a plastic surgeon at prestigious high-complexity clinics in the City of Buenos Aires, where, alongside a highly qualified team, we strive to provide professional and personalized treatments to meet the individual needs of each patient. For over 20 years, patients from around the world have come to our country for plastic surgeries, trusting in our professionalism and experienced team.
